Undeclared cargo voids insurance

Who is responsible for the contents

You are the shipper of record. The carrier contracts with Shiperon, and Shiperon contracts with you — which means the declaration you make at booking is the declaration that decides liability.

  • Declared and permitted cargo — carrier liability applies as per contract
  • Undeclared restricted cargo — liability passes to the seller
  • Wrong weight or wrong value declared — the difference is recovered on audit

What a seizure actually costs

  • The freight charge for the shipment is not refunded
  • The carrier penalty and disposal charge are billed to you
  • The customer still has to be refunded for a parcel that never arrives
  • Repeat violations can suspend your account
A ₹1,998 order shipped illegally can cost ₹7,000 or more once penalty, freight, and refund are added up.

Damage and loss claims

  • Raise the claim from the shipment detail page within 7 days of delivery
  • Keep the original box, cushioning, and label until the claim closes
  • Photograph the outer box, the inner packing, and the damaged item separately
  • Claims are rejected when the packaging does not match this guide

How freight is charged back

Financial recoveries are applied to your Prepaid Shipping Credits as a debit entry, with the reason recorded on your passbook so it can be audited line by line.

  • Every recovery appears as a separate passbook debit with a reference
  • Weight discrepancy recoveries are billed at the carrier's scanned weight
  • Disputed recoveries can be raised from Weight Disputes within 15 days

Let the booking screen enforce this for you

Every rule on this page runs inside the rate calculation. Carriers that cannot legally move your cargo are removed from the quote list, with the reason written next to them.
